Here's an easy prediction IF the red wave is true. Election night across the nation ballrooms in swanky, and not so swanky hotels can be heard overflowing with laughter and post election glee. Just under the raucous laughter, "Happy Days Are Here Again" can be heard playing on an old tired sound system pulled out of a dusty, dirty, hotel housekeeping closet. On the news programs in January, or maybe before, all we will here is, "The Republicans are in charge of everything but the White House, and JUST LOOK AT HOW TERRIBLE THINGS ARE!" The 2024 campaigns will run on the same issues as the 2022 campaigns and the media's talking point will be that Republicans didn't do anything in their two years in power. Gridlock!
(Erick, feel free to improve upon this for an upcoming monolog.)
"If the polling is right, Democrats will not have a good night."
True may be bad night for Dems, but don't ignore the month following the election when all the mail-in ballots magically appear from cemeteries across the nation ;-).
Only half-kidding. Some states have come down on the various "anonymous" ballot box efforts used so effectively in 2020, others still allow/support that mischief-ridden opportunity. I'm not a "stolen election" guy myself, just pointing out that with narrow margins we face in Senate races, it doesn't take too much late "ballot stuffing" to change outcomes.
If Kemp truly wins with +5 or greater margin he should have coat tails be able to pull some of close races over the finish line. The senate race is likely to go into a runoff.
I hope you’re right but all my liberal friends are still only yammering about abortion. They seem oblivious to the damage Biden has done to the economy. And Republicans had better turn out and vote this time!!
Let's hope the analysis is correct. And let us hope that the Republicans actually do something, and not just hold endless meetings with lot of sound bites and no meaningful changes. The time for talk is past, the time for action is now. We are depending on it, and there will be a consequence if nothing changes.
See my comment above. Nothing can change quickly because of veto power and a simple majority. I don't trust Republicans much since the contract with America they didn't keep. I've NEVER TRUSTED DEMOCRATS though, so gridlock here we come. The short term memory of the dumb-masses of voters keeps Washington moving so slow, but that's how the nation was set up to run. Let's just hope conservatives get a super majority and the white house in 2024 and then put into law things like: energy independence, border security, monetary policies. Too much executive power is undoing progress. Energy independence positively affects so many other aspects of ever day life it should be a no-brainer to want to keep it.
I am not optimistic. The ads are more “My opponent is worse than I” than they are on defining a solution. Once they get to DC (if they do) they have nothing to build on except their preciousss power (Gollum’s ring.) It’s frustrating. What are the candidates for? That’s what I want to know. What do they want to do? That’s more important. Warnock and Walter have both treated women badly. Got it. Next?
I understand your position, however, Walker alone can't change our current course. He would be a junior senator, but the GOP needs him so it can begin to turn the ship. We only have 2 choices. If you like the current direction then stay the course, but if you don't; it's time for a change,
The Republican party should really see this as an opportunity to not run complete and utter lunatics and unserious circus clowns, but sadly they don't. So things will continue and you'll still have plenty to cry about 🤗
It continues to amaze me how out of touch or ambivalent Brandon is about the situation facing most Americans. During his routine Baskin Robbins/ice cream photo op over the weekend, he was asked about the decreasing value of the dollar. He answered that he did not care about the dollar. He said he was more concerned with the world economy. The falling value of the dollar is a major reason so many Americans can't afford groceries or utility bills. Licking a cone of ice cream while stating he does not care about the dollar (and therefore U.S. citizens) is a big "F-you" to all Americans he is supposed to be serving. How in God's name did such an incompetent, idiot get elected to the presidency? But I guess it was worth it to stop getting mean tweets............
Don’t celebrate too soon. There’s always a way for this to get screwed up! But I am sure hoping and praying that we are yelling from the rooftops on November 9!
Ernie, if an ad is going to catch me, it's going to have to be during a college football game and 'maybe' the local news. We just binge watch shows - no ads. APPS are a beautiful thing.

My question to Dr. Au would be, shouldn't we say the same thing about Fetterman?

Ideologues cling to their pet issues convinced it is THE issue of importance regardless of reality.
To your point, it is our responsibility to show up, vote and tell the tale of the tape.

Agreed. I'll vote for Walker for that reason. My pessimism is rooted in the GOP's apparent unwillingness to make the changes we the people need.

So the democrats have petitioned their messiah to help in Georgia.
That’s not good. It might help them over the finish line.
It’s laughable that they call in Obama rather than President Houseplant 🤣

I have never before, with such abandon, embraced “I told you so,” as effusively as this moment!
The trouble with Republicans is that when they win they forget their promises and become Democrat Lite.
I so hope that you are right.
I am so ready for this election to be over. All of the ads are irritating at this point in time.

Until the internet cuts out in the middle of Ink Master
Whatever happened to ads that say what you want to do and not what the other person did?
I’m with Linda!
That would be a refreshing change and a lot more honest!
