Just a note. We had 2 Republican Governors who handled their stuff in FL and GA and one Dem. in NC who didn't know when to ask (the empty suit basking on the beach) for help. Just sayin. Which team do you want?
Actually, FEMA should be scrutinized as should every government agency tangentially related to national or regional disasters or emergencies. The President of the United States is the CEO of our country. His job is to do whatever it takes to rapidly provide safety and relief. The VP is COO. Her job is to also do whatever it takes to move Heaven (proverbially) and earth. They have not done that. They have failed their oath to the Constitution. As such, they should both be fired. Any CEO or COO would be removed by the board of directors. What the hell as everyone thinking!?!
Based on the way Trump handled the Covid pandemic, do we really think his former administration would have done a better job? So for him to now be spreading lies and conspiracy theories about the hurricane is quite amusing, in a sick sort of way.
I guess you liked the way Biden handled the Covid Pandemic. Democrat Governors in New York, Michigan and Washington state ensured the elderly were infected and died. Then Biden ensured military personnel and hospital personnel lost their jobs by not taking a shot that could kill them.
Any politician that would kill babies would have no problem killing you.Still waiting on those free N95 masks must’ve been diverted to Ukraine or Biden’s other love Hamas disguised as
Could Trump have done better in North Carolina? I don't see how he could have done worse. Biden's efforts were bested by The Cajun Navy, the Baptists, the Mormons, and a freaking MULETRAIN. Nothing about Helene has been "amusing." I find it more than a little tone-deaf that you would consider using that word at all.
I'm not thrilled about the possibility of another Trump presidency, but I'm not going to deride him (overmuch) about his handling of the Covid pandemic. Recall that, in the early days, Trump proposed shutting down all incoming flights from China, and he was resoundingly called a racist for his efforts. Remember that there was a lot of fear-mongering, and many people said that Trump wasn't doing enough to stop the spread, that people's deaths would be on his hands for doing too little. Joe Biden hid in his basement and was rewarded with the presidency because of his "erudite" cowardice.
I think Trump was correct in allowing Governors to determine their own response as regards lockdowns. There was no federal overreach in that respect, and that was a good thing. (My home state, Georgia, was the first to reopen -- against Trump's wishes -- and our Governor Kemp did a wonderful job of manning the helm here. My friends in Michigan, led by punitive hypocrite (D) Gretchen Whitmer, cannot say the same.) The fact remains that Dems are reluctant to allow "a crisis to go to waste" when a power-grab might be made. That alone causes me to pull the (R) handle, even as my other hand holds shut my nostrils.
All valid points, I guess, but Trump's roll in 1/6 and the still continuing election lies precludes me from ever pulling the lever for him, even holding my nose (and my brain).
Trump's role in Jan 6 being -- what? He called up the Army and had them defend the White House? He commanded the Secret Service to maintain a perimeter while he barricaded himself in the Oval Office? You want to tell me that a bunch of gun-bearing white dudes took over Congress without firing a single shot? Sir, more shots were fired at the Trump Rally in Butler PA than at the Capitol on January 6. That was not a serious attempt to take control of the United States via a coordinated effort at insurrection. You're unmasking yourself as a gaslighting victim, if you truly believe that -- and I've got a bridge in Brooklyn I'd like to sell you.
As for lies -- tell me how Kamala is going to "fix" the housing crisis? Does she plan on hiring general contractors and framers and sheetrockers and electricians and plumbers and HVAC techs and roofers to build on government property? Because she CAN'T do what she promises. My husband is in the wholesale construction industry. She can't affect local building regulations or provide the manpower to construct the units that are needed to overcome the deficit. That $25k stipend for a down-payment will be offset by the asking price for a house. What is she going to do? Price-fix home sales like she plans to price-fix groceries?
Vice President KneePads is doing to you what she did to Willie Brown. It titillates for the moment, but once she's got what she wants, she'll be on to the next rung on the ladder, and you'll be staring a divorce settlement costing you half of what you had before you jumped in the sack with her.
You may not believe in conspiracies, but that does not mean they aren't out to get us--they most certainly are. Which leads people to believe most anything, because contrary to your opinion, they often turn out to be true. I had breakfast Saturday with a pilot who was fixing to head out on his fifth to NC, and disputes what you're saying about the Feds. Because you know a guy who knows a guy doesn't absolve these people. Count me a a conspiracy theorist after many years of resisting.
On-the-ground reports I have seen from two private helicopter pilots - people that have half a million dollars invested in their aircraft so not exactly fools - confirm FEMA interference and arrest threats.
On-the-ground reports from at least two faith-group volunteers state that either FEMA or NC state authorities refused to allow distribution of free / donated supplies, because said supplies were not sourced from an approved vendor.
If these are conspiracy theories, call me a conspirator.
The media used to flush out the blatant hypocrites. Now the media is the primary promulgator of hypocrisy. The Republican attacks we had to endure over Katrina... and now they defend the old vegetable Biden and cardboard cutout Harris as either not responsible, or doing a fantastic job responding to Helene... now another cat-4 is hurling toward Florida!
If this poor disaster response does not prove that Democrats hate the working class, then ya'll have rose colored political blinders on. It looks to me like the Democrats are hoping the weather makes it impossible for people to vote because they are dead or otherwise lack the ability.
Erick you should look into carbon capture. Our government is invested in it.

Palestinians or UN personnel.
Biden loves to plant Americans.
Unless they are transgendered or LGBTQ.
Not aware of any deaths due to taking the Covid vaccine. But if you can document, please do.

Yep. Heard all that before. You are in a cult. Bless your heart.
not exactly an apples and apples comparison with covid vs hurricane response, but you do you.
Well we wouldn’t believe the Russian Bots if Harris-Biden wasn’t already so incompetent and corrupt. They’re beyond pathetic and disgusting and liars.

I think it’s a fallacy to talk about Bidens or Harris’s response to Helena. Because they haven’t had any response. None. Zip zero.
