The more the California recall becomes a Gavin Newsom versus Larry Elder race, the more likely it is that Gavin Newsom wins. The reason is that California is a clear Democrat-leaning state. So if you make it Newsom versus conservative Republican Larry Elder, then people are going to vote to keep Newsom in office. If it's all about Newsom and it becomes about all of the failures on his watch, the collapse of the California economy and the like, then it becomes about Gavin Newsom and he loses.
Gavin Newsom deserves far worse than merely being recalled, but we’ll just have to settle for that. In a just world, Newsom’s vineyard would be destroyed by disease, and his house would burn to the ground - for starters. But, being disgracefully evicted from office is enough, I suppose.
I think we’re getting close to the demise of the woketopians. I for one have no problem calling bullsh$t on them and dealing with the fallout. We can fix this if we all start calling bs on them and not buying from companies that promulgate woke ideology. That simple.
From a former resident: Either way this recall comes out California is lost. The Left and their elite supporters are simply far too entrenched to be moved by Larry Elder, who I would love to see as governor. California is like a drug addict what won't change before hitting rock bottom and finally affecting the elites where they live. I suspect this won't happen until the populace picks up pitchforks and torches and marches on Pacific Heights, Napa Valley, Beverly Hills, Palo Alto, Brentwood, Monterey and the like and starts burning some houses down. How ironic it will be for the residents there to now claim that THIS practice is illegal.
I think that California reached the point of no return a couple of decades ago. To paraphrase a line from the Vietnam War era: To save California we first have to destroy it. This would the a 2-step process.
I'm gonna be a bit harsh but really what you're saying is that in the Elder vs Falconer choice, the California GOP is gonna snub the guy that has the name id and resources to actually win the compressed race in favor of continuing to back the guy that supports their platform. Exactly how is that different from the constant sniping from various sources that Trump not supporting the GA GOP Senate candidates caused them to lose?
If Californians are truly disgusted at how their state has turned into a 3rd world country....then they should be willing to vote for change (i.e. Larry Elder). If they vote to keep Newsome in office because it is "Newsome vs Elder" then they really do not want change and they deserve to live in a s-hole. If that is the case.....they can pound sand.
Mr. Newsom is an elitist, like the rest of the Democrats in power; so far removed from real life. You get comfortable in your own surroundings and not think about others. The state is a Democrat Bastion and I believe it will be flooded with "mail-in" ballots with no oversight. He probably will not be recalled; we'll see.
