It’s dead. It’s buried.
For Joe Biden to prosecute Donald Trump for keeping classified documents, he’d have to prosecute himself.
Progressives can distinguish, nuance, and otherwise make the case that what Trump did was worse, different, greater, or really bad, but it does not matter. The President of the United States, at least, can plausibly declassify documents.
Joe Biden, as Vice President, had no such power and spread them all over the place. On top of that, his administration covered up the discovery to protect Democrats from election consequences after giving maximum exposure to Trump.
If you are just tuning in, they’ve found more documents.
We’ve got documents in a Chinese funded office.
We’ve got documents in a locked garage Hunter Biden had access to.
We’ve got documents in Biden’s house.
We’ve got commingled documents that are partly classified and partly unclassified.
And we have a cover up.
Good luck prosecuting Donald Trump on this sort of stuff without doing the same to Biden.
There has, on the right, long been an obsession with finding that one thing to throw the Clintons in jail. The left/media has the same obsession with Trump.
When Trump supporters suggested that perhaps Democrats had planted the documents at Mar-a-Lago, the American press corps condemned their conspiracies. Now, it is Democrats and the gals on The View suggesting Republicans planted the documents and the press corps is pretty quiet instead of pushing back on the conspiracies.
Maybe, in fact, Joe Biden planted the documents himself so he could well and truly kill off the case against Donald Trump and avoid the politically fraught decision to prosecute.
Or maybe Joe Biden is a hypocrite and all the stentorious blathering against Trump’s handling of classified documents was just a meaningless partisan ploy.
The case against Donald John Trump, dead today at six months. RIP
.
Trump shouldn't be prosecuted. He just needs to go away.
Hopefully many will realize they are both equally bad, and DeSantis will be elevated to the only adult in the room.
