The problem with Lin Wood's speech is his repeated exhortations for conservatives &/or Republicans (which are not necessarily the same) to not vote in the January runoff, which may have helped keep enough voters home to allow the Dems to take the Senate.
Erick, you’re forgiven. It IS a pretty slick piece of editing, and one which would go unnoticed by most people. I didn’t see it either, and just figured that Mr. Cooperman really did resent the proverbial little guys playing in the elites’ end of the pool.
So, we have progressive activists who edited a video tape for their own purposes. This is not new; the older among us may remember the infamous “Dateline NBC” segment on the supposedly exploding gas tanks in GM pickups, which was debunked by a volunteer fire department in Indiana, which proved that the tanks only exploded when an external flame source was detonated.
I get that the 1% of the 1% are upset that bunch of guys on a subreddit decided to engage in the same sort of thing that the hedge fund guys routinely do to companies of which they disapprove for whatever reason, exposing in the process the perversion of capitalism which is SOP for them. But with the Democrats willing to kowtow to those people in the interests of gaining power, why endanger the good thing they have going by removing a funding source from Republicans? Are the progressives that dense? And why make we, the people aware of the fact that American financial markets have become in many ways a crooked casino? This is the sort of thing that drives people to precisely the type of populism which may diminish both the elites’ and the Democrats’ power at a time when they appear to have a chance of a permanent lock on it.
We have citizen journalists here who keep an eye on doctored clips or biased stories that delete anything that doesn't fit the message. Different groups of watchdogs, so both sides get hammered, appropriately.
It's not the same as making mistakes, chopping part of a conversation for space reasons, or misunderstanding the speaker...that happens...but out and out fraud.
More people are needed, and those who have social media contacts or a national platform really should get involved to spread the word. I'm glad you are, Erick.
(I also think there's room for reporters and higher-ups to talk about the thought processes behind stories, and why decisions get made to present a story the way they do. In my small town, they just call up and ask, or stop the reporter in the grocery store.)
The progressive left seems to believe that they won a war, not an election. Treating Americans like a conquered people who can be lied to and manipulated with impunity may end up being the worst mistake they’ve ever made. I still believe there are Democrats who, while they may have voted against Trump, will still stand up for America if they go too far.
I wanted to see the entirelty of the tweet by @GabeHoff pictured here.
But Twitter has suspended Gabe Hoffman's account.

The left will lie, cheat and steal without hesitation...have we not figured that out yet?
Next time they will be more careful with the editing. I have to re read Orwell and Huxley. They gave us warnings.
