"I know that whoever wins, the other side will say it was stolen."

Erick, you know that is not true. In all of American history, that has only been done at the presidential level once . . . and by only one man. Neither Samuel J. Tilden (whose election was actually stolen) nor even Richard Nixon (whose 1960 election probably was) would stoop so low as to place personal political advantage over the long-term importance of the American public having faith in their electoral system.

Anyway, I have long predicted a decisive Harris victory. Now, I am not so sure. She needed to turn this election into a referendum on Trump, and I don't think she's done that. If she wins, it will have been Dobbs that carried her across the finish line.

I was taking my little dog to the vet this afternoon for a check up she’s old and I just needed some reassurance. 499$ later I was reassured. There is no recession at my house. I have a great career and make good money. Daddy made me go to nursing school. This is the man who lied about his age to go to war in Korea. He worked in the cotton mill all his life. Put three kids through college. He was right. Two Master’s degrees and 42 years later, I’ve had an illustrious career. I’m the girl who sits with the young man who had his penis turned into a vagina and he’s still not happy. Crying why did I do it? His Mama sitting there. Stonefaced. Or the young woman, crying in my office, tearing at her skin, writhing. Her baby vacuumed from her womb with no anesthesia. I know that one personally. Wednesday morning the sun will come up, God will still be in heaven and everything will be ok. Now I’m sitting outside the Adoration chapel (you Catholics know this one) waiting for my turn to go in for my hour before the Blessed Sacrament. Like Erick said, get your spirit right. Everything will be ok.

Reading this podcast made me feel like I was in a department store with a revolving door. I admire Donald J. Trump's willingness to Make America Great Again! He could be sitting on his own island with his entire family instead he is fighting to restore the REPUBLIC! I wish I could get my $70 subscription payment or part of it refunded. Erick, your braces must be squeezing your brain.

Erick we have been picking the lesser of two evils since our republic was founded. Maybe fewer flaws but flaws nonetheless. “There is no one who does good, not even one.” Romans 3:12

Re: "On a more personal note, I think too many reporters in Washington and New York have become arrogant, condescending, and inside a progressive bubble. They’ve decided a lot of Americans are just not smart and do not like them and it shows in their coverage."

Well, golly gee Erick, this has been the case for at least 30 years already. You're just now figuring this out?

One thing I have heard no one comment on is that freezing prices leads to scarcity. In 1973 Richard Nixon froze gasoline prices. Suddenly, scarcity of gas, and long lines at gas stations.

So, what Tramala Kamala is proposing to "stop price gouging" will lead to "goods and services not provided ".

This is why whenever I go shopping with one of my daughters and they have to use the restroom, I always stand outside the door. I've had store employees and security come up and ask what am I doing. I say my daughter is in there and I will not let any men in there while she is in there.

Probably meaningless in all this clutter, but this morning the Wall Street Journal, which does not endorse, ran a veiled endorsement in a column by Nikki Haley supporting Trump.

Nikki could have been deployed so effectively. Not enough ring kissing, I suppose.

Maybe not "ring."

Why do Republicans always want to hide behind the chain saws? They never do it the easy way and just jump into the running car. Every time.

Expand full comment

lol That's a better comment than I was going to make. Same intention, though. It could be so easy to defeat Harris just by letting her run her mouth without comment. But Trump has to have the last word and it's usually a bad idea!

Expand full comment

That's how the media portrays them. In reality Republicans have good game plans but its hard to plan for the rancid attacks that play out in the media. Both sides make plenty of unforced errors but it always seems to be a republican or conservative that gets the most press about it.

It seems to me that schools allowing students to take the day after the election for mental health if their candidate looses just makes it easier for riots to start. If they are not in school, they have more time to "mostly peacefully" protest

Once Chicken Little stops screaming "the sky is falling," we'll wake up Wednesday morning to our same friends and families. We'll go to our jobs, schools, and stores. We'll live our lives just like the day before. And 6 days later we'll commemorate Veterans Day, celebrate the Greatest Generation, and all those who have served. Yes, politicians and nefarious actors are trying to chip away at the very freedoms our veterans fought and died for. But, the very fact that we can act like imbeciles and never quite break the spirit of the American people should tell you everything you need to know. I'm going to sleep fine tonight. God's in his heaven and all WILL be right with the world.

“Trump and might be in such a bubble that you do not understand the anxiety he provokes in people.”

No, Trump supporters have noted it for years, but it isn’t him, it is those with Democrat media-injected Trump derangement syndrome. He is nowhere near as bad as you members of the political media chatter class make him. Just consider his children. He is a good man fighting a fight against a powerful collective while dragging along a feckless and incompetent GOP.

‘You can say “mean tweets,” but it is more than that. People do believe Trump brings out the worst in others. He is outlandish.”

Boo hoo. He is a blue collar bullshitter. His behavior is twaddle compared to his opponents. You ignore the profound democracy-destroying Democrat collective malice unleashed since 2016. Erick, per them you are a racist, misogynist, xenophobic, Islamophobic, homophobic, fascist piece of Christian trash… unless you support Harris.

“He did provoke people to go into the Capitol on January 6th.”

Nope. He provoked them to enjoy their Constitutional rights to protest the massive election irregularities and the media thumbs on the scales promoting Democrats and constantly attacking Trump.

“He is a narcissistic whose supporters can be crude, vulgar, mean, and bullying to those who lean Trump, but dare criticize him.”

Every national politician is a narcissist. The difference is the lack of looting charlatan in him. The Democrats have run full on crude, vulgar, bulling and mean politics for over a decade. The GOP have responded as whipped pansies before Trump.

“Harris may be inept, but a lot of Trump supporters do not understand how many Americans would rather stay with Team Inept than Team Asshole, pardon my language.”

Well yes, thanks to people like you in the media that take bites out of him because he upsets your upperclass biases… ignoring that most of the nation is more disgusted with upperclass biases.

Trump is the only anti-establishment choice. This election like Brexit, like 2016, like in Germany and Argentina, and Sweden… they are all the same US against THEM… THEM being the establishment power. You might want to work harder to grasp that bigger picture and stop wallowing in the shallow game of personality politics.

Well, I cannot tell you how accurately you have said exactly what I have been thinking. This dream the establishment has that once Trump is gone, they can go back to what they deemed the civilized republican party, which got us here in the first place, is a denial of reality.

Expand full comment

It is like they refuse to recognize that the game is rugby and not cricket. They are getting smashed in the mouth and still think we should play some civilized game. They are all so terrified of the left mob calling them names, and the left mob still calls them names. Trump just recognized the futility of trying to walk on eggshells around what are truly the most dark, dirty and disgusting covert narcissists running the Democrats... and he is an overt narcissist with Teflon armor against their constant vile attacks.

What these old GOPers don't get is that Reagan running today would be trashed too. They would trot out three liberal females that claimed Ronny looked at them in a sexual way when they went to high school. They would find some old recording and take everything he says out of context and plaster it through the Democrat media. Ronnie would be branded as a racists, misogynist and fascist tyrant.

And his methods of saying things like "there he goes again" wouldn't have anything close to the political attraction he garnered back then. The political game changed to be much more dirty thanks to the Democrats and thanks to the Republicans for ignoring what the Democrats were doing thinking they were the high and mighty moralists that would win just because they set on that higher perceived pedestal.

I read the bible too. The lessons of recognizing the need to fight the enemy with fire and brimstone is right there. Republicans blew it not fighting, and here comes Trump to start the fight and he has to also fight the feckless Republicans at the same time.

Expand full comment

And those are the cold hard facts. I have not been able to articulate it properly and my frustration at watching the republicans simply not get it is about to make my head blow up. I am so glad you have found the right words.

People seem to forget the dem conspiracy theorists who claimed GWB blew up the levies in NO and caused them to flood. Never mind that they were put in place by democratic leadership who approved of the US Army Corp of Engineers 2 decades before Bush ever became president.

Your comments of "Harris may be inept, but a lot of Trump supporters do not understand how many Americans would rather stay with Team Inept than Team Asshole, pardon my language."

With the INEPT in charge, we will be in WWIII in short order because ALL Nations know who she is and who are her partners. And we will be run by the ONE WORLD GOV. from that time on, with people like the head of China, or Russia, being in charge of the world, then and until we Christians are taken home by His Angels. But the time from now till then will NOT be a good time to be on this earth for those seven years.

You did an excellent job of writing this and I agree with you.

The two main things I worry about with a Harris presidency is the continuation of the border policies and war with China and Russia. I am in northwest Atlanta (just north of downtown) and am starting to see illegals in my neighborhood, one female who appeared to be hiding from something/someone the other day. It’s too bad the Republicans didn’t go with DeSantis or even Haley. This would be a cake walk by now.
