The real danger here is not what the Democrats are doing, however reprehensible and demented it may be. It is the probability that Republican prosecutors will mimic the Democrats and bring charges against President Biden or members of his family. No matter how justified those charges may be, and there's many facts in evidence to suggest that they would certainly be far more justified than Alvin Bragg's flight of fancy, it would inevitably bring on a cycle of tit for tat retributions which will inevitably lead to the total breakdown of the American justice system. And in that event, what happens next? Do the vigilantes of both right and left come out of their respective holes and wreak further havoc on the American polity? When Joe Jacopina states that the Democrats the rule of law in America, he's only slightly exaggerating. Women and men of honor and decency irrespective of party affiliation will have ample reason to regret that we have reached this point in our national story, as the future existence of the Republic has seldom if ever been in this great a danger. Start praying hard, very hard, Erick, for divine intervention may be the only thing which can possibly save us.

Let me be sure I understand this. Is it the conservative position that EVEN IF Trump broke the law, he should not be prosecuted?

I mean, if others committing the same offense - or any other offense, for that matter - have not been prosecuted, all that means to me (and anybody else who really supports the rule of law) is that they should have been prosecuted as well. Come to think of it, there are people who have been. Michael Cohen did time for his involvement in the very same transaction now at issue with Trump and falsifying business records is one of the offenses for which Allen Weisselberg sits in jail right now . . . that and tax evasion.

Don't think a campaign finance violation is an offense warranting prosecution? Legal fees are deductible. Pay-offs to porn stars are not. If the Trump Organization treated the pay-off as legal fees for tax purposes and Trump knew the actual purpose, he's also guilty of tax evasion.

And if his current candidacy is what makes Trump's a special case that should not be prosecuted, what was all that "Lock her up" stuff about in 2016?

I have substantial misgivings about the prosecution of a former President by the next administration, especially for anything that former President did, as President. That's not what this is. The offenses alleged here occurred before he took office and this isn't the Biden administration that is prosecuting Trump.

You guys need to wake up and see where you're going. Many of you looked past Trump's shameless and incessant lying. Then you watched associate after associate of his be convicted of felonies. After the felony conviction of the Trump Organization, you still had the fig leaf of no criminality when it comes to Trump himself. But no more. The Rubicon being crossed here does not just concern the criminal prosecution of a former President. The slow and steady degradation of the values of the conservative movement by the insidious effect of this man is taking you to the acceptance . . . nay, the defense of outright criminality. Is this what being a conservative has come to mean?

Listening to DA Bragg's post-arraignment Q&A press session, Proverbs 15:2b came to mind "The tongue of the wise uses knowledge rightly, But the mouth of fools pours forth foolishness." What a shame that our media and political leaders aren't instead focused as zealously on Border Security, National Security, Fiscal Stewardship, and sanctity of Life, to name a few.

There is clearly a level of real evil being demonstrated in the American political system and it isn't coming from Trump nor his supporters.

This is shameful and a travesty. Absolutely despicable. I never thought I would see this kind of thing in your country. Ever.
