In voicing her objection to Pete Hegseth as Secretary of Defense, Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts tweeted, “In 2023, over 29,000 active-duty troops were sexually assaulted, including more than 6 in every 100 women in the military.
And while Americans slept, Biden handed $1 billion to Africa.............after ignoring Americans in NC and FL. Hoping they are stoking the fires down there............
This site consistently gives me information I was not aware of. In this case, I had no idea that Hegseth was the Sec of Defense LAST YEAR when Sen. Hiawatha was complaining about this. Who else knew?
Regarding the sexual assault “news”, Bernie Goldberg wrote about this phenomenon 25 years ago in his book titled “Bias”. Facts that would condemn Democrats don’t get covered. He even had a chapter titled something like “How Bill Clinton Solved Homelessness”, which described how there were daily articles on the topic throughout the Reagan and Bush the Elder administrations, which stopped almost completely on Jan 20, 1993. Expect to see stories about how Trump enabled this “culture of rape” in the military, and daily coverage of sexual assault regardless of who is confirmed as SecDef.
Well, this is just a different level of stupid, even for her…. Regarding Syria, this is an opportunity to help stablize the region, if the right leadership goes into place.
Seems like Warren’s comments are great fodder for the confirmation hearing - allows Hegseth (and the Reps on the committee) to address some pretty unconscionable things happening on the Dem’s watch. And yes, why hasn’t she been screaming about this before now?
I care not one whit what Elizabeth Warren has to say. Yes, she is duly elected. Yes, she gets a vote, but her voice is that of the opposition and always has been. I cannot wait until she speaks officially no more. I bet she's livid she has to deal with Trump again. Good. I hope her kind's days are numbered, politically speaking.
Aw, man, too little coffee in the morning. I got up and began reading, then typing before the coffee was done or I was done waking up. You are 100% right. I'll have to edit that or remove it entirely. I'm an idiot.
As for Syria, it’s wait-and-see time, not celebration time. And yes, the entire world does seem relieved that there’s somebody at the wheel in America again, even if they don’t necessarily like him-somebody, anybody. The uncertainty is over, the US is the US again, and because of it, everybody knows how to act now. The relief among our allies is unmistakable.
How long has Pocahontas had these numbers? Why did she sit on them? It’s unconscionable for any reason! As is using these sexually assaulted women as a political football!
Fauxcahontas is trying to get people to think Hegseth=rapist without committing slander.
Since Austin could have addressed this already, she's just a Democrat democratting.
In addition to screaming at the tv over “you can keep your doctor” I was screaming and crying over the lack of response to the Arab Spring!
Lizzie Warren speaks with forked tongue
Biden's has been one of the worst, most scandalous admins in my lifetime. No wonder people are suggesting a pardon-fest on his way out.
Remember how Biden and Obama created the mythical and pretentious 'Office of the President-Elect'?
Trump has never needed to do that.
A reckoning is due for much of our federal apparatus. Look forward to Syria insight.
Warren’s miss on responsibility would be comical if it weren’t so telling and sad.
And while Americans slept, Biden handed $1 billion to Africa.............after ignoring Americans in NC and FL. Hoping they are stoking the fires down there............
He's giving another billion ($988M) to Ukraine as well.
How quickly Kamala has fallen out of the news. Amazing.
Yay!

We can bet the "right" leadership does not exist in that region.
Flyfisher111: The law of averages says that you’re probably correct, but for the moment, and the citizens of that country, we can hope.

Republican?

Unless it’s bullshit. And they wonder why……
It's the feminist way evidently. Women's issues are only important if you can bash a republican with them.
It's very transparent girl-dinner politicking.
Sexual assault of women is a crime to democrats/progressives unless they are Jews. Then it’s “justified resistance. “
Good point!
