Oh I am sure Hillary, Kamala, Biden, MSNBC et aland every other progressive liberal politician will express (feign) dismay and sadness if someone manages to assassinate Trump. The base will be throwing parties.

I'm just wondering why Biden was considered too old and senile to stand trial for document crimes, and was also considered too senile by his own party (including his VP and current POTUS candidate) to continue his campaign despite their best efforts to conceal his obvious impairment, is still in charge of the country. Someone make that make sense to me.

I don’t care for all the hype. If the democrats are concerned, I am MORE concerned because the thing that motivates Dems to come out to keep it close or Win against Trump is fear and hate. This is not a time to look up to check the score. People got to keep working the persuasion, turn out, and fueling campaigns with cash…until the finish line

Many thanks to Charlie who spend an extended amount of time on the phone with me today explaining the difference between "internal polling" and "external polling." He did a good job.

I listen to Erick live, or on his podcast. I guess I missed Erick's explanation. I appreciate Charlie.

I voted today in GA. Late in the second week, the line was still around the building. Last week, traffic was backed up 1/2 mile trying to get to the street where the polling occurred.

On Nov 5th, my wife and I will walk to the corner and then 100 yards to the school behind our house. Probably little or no line, we should spend 30 minutes total. We appreciate all the early voters.

I voted at the public library on Ponce in Atlanta last week. Zero line and took me maybe 5 minutes. There were around 15 poll workers, most of whom had nothing to do while I was there. I had to park down the street because presumably most of the parking spaces were taken up by the poll workers. Not a problem though.

No matter who wins the election the sun will come up tomorrow. It's going to be ok.

Although history tells us otherwise, I sure hope you’re right. We can recover from failing to choose the right leader, but not necessarily from choosing the wrong one.

Not just Germany, but Rome before it were both Republics, until they let the wrong man come to power.

After that, the choosing was over.

Well then we deserve what we get. She’s been President for the last 4 years. Biden lived in the basement for 4 years, we knew that they were lying to us, but nary a word from anyone.

I thought the tone of the Holocaust survivor ad was good.

It avoids getting into an "am not!/are too!" whizzing match, and instead focuses on trivializing Nazism as well as cheap attempts by the Dems to go "full Godwin".

Expand full comment

I wish Trump would run that as a public ad. It is a powerful answer to the Dem's baseless accusations.

Can noncitizens who vote in the VA election be prosecuted for voting after the election?

I'm assuming that even with a "valid" registration but for the citizenship issue, actually voting under that registration is still a crime.

Expand full comment

With the court saying that non citizens can’t be removed from the voter list, how can we have a fair election? There were too many stories of ballot stuffing in 2020 and no one took the time to say they were false and gave proof. So what are we supposed to think this time?

Great point on the show about if Harris were POTUS right now reelection would be a lot easier for her. She'd have incumbency, the bully pulpit, a chance to test-drive the job (although that could go both ways), etc.

Now, I don't put all or even most of the blame on Biden. 25A exists for a reason and we don't depend on non compos mentis people to do the right thing.

Dems must have some research that suggests that 25Aing Biden is a bad look. Or they don't think that Harris is up to the job or would screw up her 4-month trial run. Or it would result in a Dem internal civil war from hell among staffers and party VIPs.

Now, if Biden either steps down or is 25Aed after the election, that will be a tell.

If "Weekend At Joey's" continues, then the Dems will look feckless. From a statesmanship standpoint, they should have ripped off the Band-Aid a while back.

Hmm. Maybe to cause mayhem for next POTUS if not Harris, or to maintain status quo if is Harris?

Can she be fired, if desired?

Again, depends on outcome of this election. I'm sure she can be "convinced" to quit by making the position so uncomfortable she leaves (policy enforced in a strictly "protect the organization from the individual" kind of thing). I'm also sure she can continue to be advanced in her career by the other side of the aisle.

I hope you’re right about the trends, but honestly, every time you say “data points” I cringe because in 2022 you were convinced about the data points favoring republicans over the polls.

The trend in republican new registrations is moving serious in the positing direction too. PA used to be Dem +7.5, now it's Dem +2ish.

Agree - much needed and appreciated statement by Vance . He does this while Harris ( and much of the MSM) call Trump a fascist and imply he is a Nazi. Regardless of the extent to which Vance has been successful in convincing voters to support Trump and him, he certainly has succeeded in letting voters understand who he really is and in substantially improving his image . The Dem’s early success in demonizing him has been completely reversed.

I will be so glad when this is over. I realize that there will be a lot of hand wringing no matter who wins, not looking forward to that. I’m just so tired of the back and forth. If it wasn’t so cold I’d go smell the grass. Vote.

If Trump should happen to win, there will be a lot more than hand wringing. The violence is going to be epic.

...and citizens of DC know it, fleeing town for fear of violence. Of course history in last 50 years has shown the violence comes from the left, but MSM posits it as 2.0 version Jan 6 (which, btw, was far less destructive than *ANY* of the BLM riots).

Hi Blair. Yesterday I stood in line behind three young ladies likely voting for Harris and in front of two African-American ladies also likely voting for Harris. I complimented the young ladies for being part of the process and was pleased to see the African-American ladies had a daughter with her (too young to vote) as an example to the daughter. No discussion, just thanked them active participation.

I may be alone however, I do not see Jan. 6 as an insurrection. I have thought about it quite alot. I'm not arguing with Blair, I just disagree. It was a riot, a very different kind of riot.m but, it was not an insurrection.

J6 was just one tiny aspect of Trumps attempts to overturn an election. I notice nearly all republicans focus on it because it gives then a logical defense and they never then have to grapple with the multitude of other illegal ways that Trump tried to stay in power and thereby murder America. see below:

Some of the ways in which Trump & Co. illegally tried to end democracy in 2020 include: Trying to coerce secretaries of states and governors to throw him the election in their states, listen to the recorded call with Brad Raffensberger below (after Brad refused to go along with the scheme Trump recruited a primary challenger and tried to oust Brad as retribution for not going along).

Recruiting slates of fake electors in several states to fraudulently submit false documents on his behalf attempting to defraud the government, see source docs below.

Pressuring Pence to thrown out the electoral college and unilaterally make him President, hear Pence discuss this directly below. Also, Trump sat on his hands for 4 hours while a mob roamed the capital with zipties trying to hang Pence

Trumps full audio call with Raffensberg: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UhBxg17QqZ4

Fake electors submissions: https://www.archives.gov/foia/2020-presidential-election-unofficial-certificates

Giuliani admitting in court filing that he made false statements about Ruby Freeman (which formed the basis for much of Trumps coercing of Raffensberger in audio above): https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.dcd.238720/gov.uscourts.dcd.238720.84.2.pdf

Pence directly on what Trump tried to get him to do (you make your own judgement on who has a better reputation for honesty between Pence and Trump: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tglap7tGwHg

In addition to the rampant criminality cited above you can look at this from the FL docs case to see how Trump views adherence to rule of law in general by looking at the cooperation of his Mar A Lago IT person Yuscil Taveras (Trump Employee 4) and messages between his staff of idiots in cited in the court document below. This was after Taveras dropped the Trump paid lawyer and got his own to free him to tell about Trump's wanton lawlessness in obstructing justice in the FL docs case.

My identity isn't hidden as far as I know. My name is Kathy, Casey the last if you are actually interested. I literally use my real name all the time as I care not a whit what anyone thinks or says to or about me.

I'd encourage anyone to not give their full name on here, granted its probably low risk.

The risk to me is probably a bit higher though given that my views more often diverge from the herd on here.

I also don't think the "who" behind an argument matters as much as the content of the argument.

In the age of senseless controversy, anonymity in these forums is not a bad thing. There's a reason doxxing is considered evil by almost everyone (except those doing it, I suppose). Even Founding Fathers used pseudonyms at times to mask their identity in publications.

Real-life consequences can be experienced in the workplace when bucking the HR trends today. I remain quietly confident in my non-PC stance because we can speak our minds without getting a call from whatever powers-that-be.

Expand full comment

On a more civil note, what went into the decision? Did Kamala have a particular policy stance you align with that Trump did not? Truly curious. Have not seen much evidence of strong leadership in any of the Harris-Walz ads, so there must be something that both garnered your vote and willingness to weather nasty comments here.

I'm actually asking, not just being a jerk.

Expand full comment

I simply reviewed the information from the source and determined that Trump's multiple illegal attempts to stay in power after losing an election was an attempt to murder America that is disqualifying - full stop. Not "disqualifying, unless your opponent is too vapid or has terribly policy positions" In fact it's so disqualifying that I am willing to vote in a way that maximizes the chance you lose even if it means holding my nose while I do it.

I would change "much" to "no" evidence of strong leadership. If your answer to every question is rhetoric about your opponent it doesn't show anything in the way of leadership.
