Yep, Scott Jennings nailed it.

The Liberal Patriot has some interesting thoughts, but he misses a big part of American history. Slavery which was wholeheartedly supported by the Democrat party and birthed the Republican Party. Although Trump followed a pragmatic strategy regarding the life issue, it is not going away. The battle to protect unborn babies will go on for a while, but in the end unborn life will be protected. As the nation ages (which has already begun) and there are fewer and fewer children which will affect social security, Medicare, military recruitment, etc the country will come to the realization that killing off the next generation is national suicide.

The GOP has a tremendous opportunity based on the fact that the democrat party is unlikely to learn anything factual from last night. If the GOP can continue along the path Trump blazed last night, they can add to their gains in 2026. I doubt the GOP will be able to manage that feat though as they work extra hard to destroy the coalition Trump forged last night.

Trump has been given a huge opportunity to do great things for the American people. What he needs to do is get off the revenge train and hit the ground running day one and start doing some of the things he promised. I realize a lot of things will take time and negotiation with Congress but what he doesn't need to do is start with the getting even. Getting even has already come. He's President of the greatest country in the world. My opinion. No one here has to agree. But a lot of people have put their faith in what he said he would do. People who you never thought would vote for Trump or a Republican. Hopefully he doesn't blow it!

The Scott Jennings video is awesome. I sure wish you’d give us the URL of videos like this so we could use them in our own Facebook posts!

Does Gov Kemp in GA run against the Democrat in 2026 and pad the Senate lead further? What does the GA Democrat Senator do over the next 24 months? I suspect not much but be"supportive" of"fixing" the problems facing America. In the past a GA Democrat Senator demanded the support police be unionized. He lost that battle and then lost his Senate seat. Will any Democrat senator up for relaxation in 2026 actively vote against Trump's immigration policy? Tax policy? Regulation reform?

One thing Trump understands better than most politicians-- a balance sheet. The US balance sheet is messed up. By changing the business model (fewer regulations and lower taxes) one can repair the balance sheet.

The elephant in the room, which will be far more noticable in 2028, is the fiscal health of social security. Social security has the a deficit for the straight years. Minus $100 billion this year. This only grows. By 2028, social security will be looking at default on 2033. One year after the second term of the president after Trump. If Trump can balance the budget before then, he effectively is absorbing the social security deficits with general budget surpluses. The next president will then have more flexibility to change the business model of social security. Would you trust a CA Gov like Gavin? Or a FL Gov like DeSantis?

The Democrats only have weak leaders to elevate that have weak policies. The Republicans have string leaders with strong policies.

Will Trump lead and fix the general budget?

in reflection on my past experiences, 17 elections, the last series of events so remined me of a quote from Hunter S Thompson. I think it transcends perfectly, prophetic even.:

-"There was madness in any direction, at any hour. If not across the Bay, then up the Golden Gate or down 101 to Los Altos or La Honda. . . . You could strike sparks anywhere. There was a fantastic universal sense that whatever we were doing was right, that we were winning. . . .

And that, I think, was the handle—that sense of inevitable victory over the forces of Old and Evil. Not in any mean or military sense; we didn’t need that. Our energy would simply prevail. There was no point in fighting—on our side or theirs. We had all the momentum; we were riding the crest of a high and beautiful wave. . . .

So now, less than five years later, you can go up on a steep hill in Las Vegas and look West, and with the right kind of eyes you can almost see the high-water mark—that place where the wave finally broke and rolled back.”

Take into account that Hunter was using some serious drugs when he penned that.

The electoral college...

Saying this is the first time Republicans have won and got the popular vote since 2004 is a bit misleading. There have, now, been only 2 Republican winners since 2004.

The Presidency has been won 5 times though the popular vote was lost, Adms, Hayes, Harrison, Bush, Trump. All Republicans (Adams was Federalist)

Nevermind that is 8.4% of the Presidential elections, the Left is convicted only Republicans can be unpopular presidents. They are on the "right side of history".

What they fail to recognize is their plan will tantamount disenfranchise the voters of the States that vote for the party that does not win the popular vote.

In 55 of now 60 Presidential elections the winner also won the popular vote. Imagine the angst of CA and NY when their electoral college votes go to the Republican because the Republican won the popular vote but would have otherwise lost the electoral college.

By the way, did I miss Blair's comments today? I know my comment is mean but, since I really don't talk to any my friends about politics, where else can I be openly glad that Mr. Trump & JD Vance were elected?

Erick, I agree with some of the other commenters. I am SO glad you're parsing so much of the info for us!

It's interesting that Harris only improved among white college-educated women and boomers.

POCs shifted bigly to Trump, along with Millennials and GenZs. So much for the youth vote.

White college women are now the Dems' second-most-loyal constituency, behind Blacks.

One thing I don't feel is being talked about is the Never Trumpers. Liz, Romney, etc..

The backlash at them will be swift and meaningful. Nothing violent, I hope but it is coming and in my view its a necessary purge.

Republicans in 94 and again in 2010 were infected by the Rhino's who muffled conservative agendas and is the reason spending didn't change. So getting these middle of the road who hang a left at liberal rest stops can be shown to the desert.

I think you now have a good batch of real conservatives like JD, Like Desantis, like Scott while Trump has thoroughly squeezed out the Cheney's, the Romneys and told them they aren't welcome anymore.

NeverTrumper conservatives and libertarians like myself will remain skeptical, but will take a glass-half-full approach and play the hand we've been dealt like grown-@$$ men and women. We'll be the loyal opposition--emphasis on loyal--that the Dems weren't.

Not sure about other "folx" who voted for Harris. The left-wing snobs have nobody to blame but themselves.
