With the storms in the area, I hope the, ahem, power doesn't go out down at Turner...

Looks like Biden picked the wrong week to quit amphetamines.

Must-read from The Liberal Patriot: https://www.liberalpatriot.com/p/no-democracy-is-not-on-the-ballot

TL; DR: Almost as many of the people polled who are worried about "preserving/defending democracy" think that Biden is more of a threat to democracy than Trump is. Independents are giving the edge to Trump. And harping on "Convicted Felon Trump" is an unpleasant reminder of the lawfare that is going on. "Defending democracy" is as much anti-Biden as it is anti-Trump. Also, very few people care about J6.

From the article (bangs in original): "Similarly, over two waves of Democracy Corps’ battleground surveys, Biden and the Democrats were favored over Trump and the Republicans by an average of only 3.5 points on “presidents not being able to act as autocrats,” by 2.5 points on “democracy being secure,” and by 2 points on “protecting democracy” (first wave only). And Trump and the Republicans were favored over Biden and the Democrats by 1.5 points on “opposing extremism” (!) and by 5 points on “protecting the US constitution” (!!)."

Now, I think Trump is dead to rights on obstruction in the classified docs case, Hur's related comments about Biden and his classified docs notwithstanding. The DC case is flaky, and the Georgia case had--HAD--some legs, but GA's weird RICO law has never been pressure-tested in court--never mind Fani Willis's shenanigans. But the NY case was a flat-out kangaroo court.

The only ace in Biden's hand is abortion. The rest of his hand are rags. His hand is A-3-5-7-9, all mixed suits. Trump may only be holding a pair of deuces and a pair of treys, but that will beat ace-high all day long.

Everyone should watch the HBO-max series “Chernobyl” it’s a definite preview of what a socialist liberal type of government we are heading towards. And if you go into the inner cities it’s already that way.

In one instance the people in charge were not even scientists or experts. But often people hired from unrelated industries. The safety director was a former shoe salesmen.

This is no different than the DEI managers out in place who have no experience or knowledge of the industries they are out in charge of.

But if you want a real and true preview of were America heads to if Biden wins. Watch that show.

Erick did not mention this local story, so here's a link to a story on the latest disgrace in Georgia's court system: https://www.zerohedge.com/political/watch-leftist-georgia-judge-arrested-and-dismissed-bench-after-assaulting-police

That’s one. But like cockroaches when there is one there is hundreds.

The scuttlebutt from two Walmarts closing in North Fulton are that the profits took a huge hit in conjunction with astonishing increases in shoplifting/theft. The Dunwoody police are heaving a sigh of relief, as they regularly get at 2-3 calls a day to the Dunwoody Walmart for shoplifting, soliciting, etc., etc. An anecdote: One day they had five shoplifting arrests within a couple of hours, and one of the shoplifters was stealing with the police only a few feet away. When arrested, the thief admitted that he tried it because he figured the police were too busy to notice. Police say thieves are so brazen that they casually shoplift 50-60" TVs -- just pick it up, put it in a cart, and walk out with it. I do wonder how much theft increased when Walmart moved to primarily self-checkout.

I’m one who likes self checkout. But the wal mart self check out is ridiculous. When it came out they had an increase in shoplifting reports but some of the people weren’t shop lifting at all. But the store called anyway.

Kevin’s wife of Kevin and Taylor on the Fish was using the self checkout and she got detained by the police for 3 hours. They wrote her a citation and basically shook her down for money. Pay the fine of $600 or spend $2600+ fighting it in courts.

I don’t blame Walmart for being Gustavo like in their pursuit of shoplifters, but when it also prosecutes the innocent. That’s a problem.

Don't be surprised if the JB handlers don't allow JB to take the platform. Just as DT did not need to attend debates in Repub primaries, JB can take a big spider monkey fall on this platform. I believe the odds are at least 75%. But that will be good for America to see.

Except for the omission of the trap doors under each candidate (and the bucket of slime if the debate were on Nickelodeon) they've pretty much followed my previous debate recommendations.

It'll be interesting to seen the viewer #s between CNN and FNCs simulcast.

I see a game being played at the debate and Trump gets annoyed and walks off. They will spin that to cover Brandon’s mistakes.

No matter what happens the media will say Joe won. Joe could go up there babble incoherently, fall or drool on himself and they would still say Biden won. To quote Akbar. This is a trap! Trump should never have agreed to it.

I hope not. I would far prefer to see Trump present himself as a statesman, not a back-alley dog-fighter. Calm, reasoned, coherent, on-message and drop the bullying b.s. of trying to talk over the other candidate that cost him votes on 2020.

All Trump needs to do to "win" this debate is STICK TO POLICY ISSUES: Discuss both his own proposals for a second term, and make a comparison of the cost / quality of American life in 2018 vs 2023 and how that relates to his vs Biden's policies.

He won’t walk off stage. But trump needs to hammer the immigration issue. I bet the moderator won’t even ask.

If Trump does that, he would deserve to lose. I really don’t think he will.
