When I bought a Ring doorbell it had nothing to do with what color person was at my door. I don't obsess over such stuff. I have had people of every color come to my door selling some thing or the other. My pest control guy is a black man. He knows what he's doing. My yard is serviced by a white guy who knows weeds well. When I have yard trash from cut limbs, branches, etc., I call the Hispanic guy down the street who hauls it off for me. I am a mature, white male who knows that there are people of different skin colors. They each have their skills and expertise.

As for Wired, I can only say what I have said more than a few times before: progressivism is a mental illness.

If physical fitness is racist, who's gonna arrest the heart attacks that nail 300-pound women of colour? Sure are a lot of them around, and it even seems to be a lifestyle goal, based on Calvin Klein ads and the role modeling of Lizzo.

Sonia Sotomayor took a page from Hillery.

I wonder if any of those schools will have business in front of the Court.

CNN's article on Tommy Tuberville was ridiculously long just repeating itself over and over again with pasted quotes interspersed.

CNN wants you to know YOU MUST CARE because they care that you care the way they care.

No one can catch all of his own typos! Seriously, though, I would be happy to proofread anything you send my way. Erick is easily in the top one percent of writers, but even he could be better. Another day I'll give him a hard time about the difference between "less" and "fewer."

Well, "less" is certainly a word we could stand to see a lot less of. Or, I could say it this way: less is a word I would like to see used a lot fewer times.

I recently read a biography of Teddy Roosevelt. He was arguably the most progressive president ever (the irony of a GOP millionaire as the champion of the working man). He was also a fitness fanatic.

History is the best antidote to narrative fiction.

Anyone read “The Old Lion” by Jeff Shaara? I have read all his military historical fiction, but the TR book has mixed reviews.

I didn’t love Sahara’s work. The real stories from the civil war are so crazy on their own.

I loved Bruce Canton’s series. He did a good job of maintaining a broad strategic view of the war while weaving in first hand accounts of individuals.

So I guess you haven’t read his historical novel about TR? I guess my favorite Shaara book was his WW1 one.

In addition to Mornings on Horseback, I highly recommend The River of Doubt by Candice Millard. It's fantastic!

I read the Rise of Theodore Roosevelt by Edmund Morris and The Bully Pulpit by Doris Kearns Goodwin

I actually took a lot of confidence from those books. Politics in this country has been a bare knuckles brawl for a lot longer than we care to admit.

And the “Great Man” theory of history is real. Today there is an even better chance that the right person can rise to the challenge now that the whole population has a path to greatness.

I agree with you wholeheartedly about our defenses and the utter stupidity of Obama, Gates, and McCain in killing the F-22. However, wherever you get your opinion of the F-35, I think you’re wrong. There’s a reason all our alles that we’ll sell to want the F-35, from South Korea, Singapore and Japan to the U.K., Germany, Poland, Italy, Israel, etc., etc. There are three excellent European fighter jets whose manufacturers would love to sell more of: the Eurofighter Typhoon, Dassault Rafale, and Saab Gripen. Countries want the F-35 if they can get it.
