So how much is it to replace the batteries? They say tesla batteries last 100k or 6 to 10 years, and cost 16,000 to 20,000 plus labor to replace. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vp0tGI1KUVU see this guy whose batteries went bad after 5 years and blew his up rather than pay 22k. I was looking at getting a Toyota hybrid and their batteries cost $7500 plus labor, Chrysler hybrid costs $13,500 to replace plus labor. I basically would have to save every month so I could replace the battery when it goes bad.
On the Gas vs Electric. A few data variables with the data. If you have a free charger you use at work, which i do, then its even cheaper to charge. I also have special hours through the power company to charge so its a cheaper rate. But honestly I have had an EV since 2012. The cost is astronomically different. Where I drive 26 miles to work each way for a total of 52 miles. I was refueling 2 - 3 times per week at about $100 if not more. Or about $500 in gas which equates to quite a lot every year. Add in the multiple Oil changes and brake maintenance, there is no way EV's cost more in that regard.
I don't have to replace my brakes, so thats more savings.
Now, do i still pay SOME costs, of course I do. My electric bill is not $500 more every month however. It went up about $40 a month as compared to before I got an EV. Add in I now have 2 EV's.
I guess if your always charging at home and constantly charging, maybe. But i am sorry i don't see it.
I am not an enviro wacko either. I have an EV because I like the ride and for my lifestyle its convenient.

You had to refuel 2-3 for 260 miles of commute? You either had a real gas guzzler or drove all weekend.
Are you calculating just the commute. Add the other 100 miles of traveling for my second job plus running the kids around to practice etc…
It adds up.
It’s also a 10 gallon tank. With 26 mpg. Yeah that’s 260.
I know what I know. And I don’t spend nearly as much on charging. Actually I spend zero most days. As I did on gas.
I’m not saying ones better than the other but I don’t believe for a second that EV’s cost more per 100 than a car. Not these days not any day.
Not disputing the gas vs. EV, was just trying to understand the math. That's a small tank.
Praise the Lord for Jacob Kersey as he will receive his reward many times over from his real Commander in Chief.
Blessings to you Jacob.
