The Liberal Patriot

#1 We need a rapid green transition

#2 We need an “all-of-the above” strategy

#3 We need to stop the push to replace domestic oil and gas production

If #2 means the government still gets to push renewable energy and put their thumb on the scale then #3, which I infer means the government let's the market evolve, is the right answer.

If #2 means "I agree we should explore renewable energy but in a market driven way", then really #2 and #3 are the same.

There has to be a recognition that states differ in capability and have different competing industries and populations vying for land and energy resources.

If the transition is possible, even over a century or more, the transition will look different in every state or at least region. A heavy handed federal government will f it up every time.

So does MTG's comments about space lasers make her a "Space Cadet"? Just wondering.

Actually not that concerned that the Mayorkas impeachment was derailed. It wasn’t going anywhere, the dems diminished impeachment themselves, but they’re in charge. And Mayorkas is doing exactly what he was hired to do. The best impeachment is the one I hope happens this November.

Exactly and every Democrat agrees. That should be great political foder.

Trump was the first President to do something about fighting antisemitism on college campuses. He signed an Executive Order on December 11th, 2019. It would allow the Education Department to withhold funds from colleges it believes were discriminating. Of course, the left media claimed attacks on Jews rose when Trump came into office - that was all they talked about, but LOOK at what is going on now. It didn't start with Mr. Trump, it was on the college campuses long before he came into office. It was taught by the professors in their subtle way. Alan Dershowitz said, "One of the most important events in the 2,000-year battle against anti-Semitism." It took Biden until May/June, 2023 to actually continue doing something about antisemitism. Another fact; Trump fought to admit Jews and Blacks to his Palm Beach Golf Club while other Palm Beach Clubs discriminated. The media lies about him being a racist and it all started when he said he was running as a Republican.

The Liberal Patriot article on "Why Democrats Will Become Energy Realists" is both very interesting and frosts me. It is like so many other Democrat agenda items that lack critical thinking over consequences and feasibility. I want to carve out the idiots on both sides of the political spectrum for the same idiocy and put them on an isolated island somewhere where they can both experiment with their absurdity on themselves and leave the rest of us alone.

The information from Vaclav Smil along with the YouGov poll, they provide what we already know about the energy topic, and it is similar to the abortion topic, that the majority wants a moderate and rational compromise but the extremists hold the agenda.

THIS is the problem and threat to democracy where the extremists can set the agenda and the policies of the administration. We know that Biden Chief of Staff Jeff Zients is getting his orders from the Obama and Clinton camps and is the puppet master of Joe Biden. These are people committed to the US being absorbed in the Wall Street funded globalist corporatist cabal... and hobbling the working class and small business economy of the US is required to get that done.

So US energy costs will be kept high with that goal in mind. And the elites will keep plastering divisive conflicts through their Wall Street-owned media feeds to keep the electorate at each other's throats while they pillage and loot the country to an empty shell.

I’m cheering Speaker Johnson. He’s showing courage at the expense of careerism.

Your challenge of Erick above make your "vehement" opposition abundantly clear.

The fact is the House will "do something" regardless. I'll kiss a dirty Sanchez over eating a s#!t sandwich.

MTG is working hard to let the Democrats give the Republicans a Dirty Rodriguez.

On Ukraine, your position requires believing that Putin will stop at Ukraine. In 2007 he referred to countries striped away from Mother Russia.

Putin will not stop at Ukraine and the next country will be a NATO country which will require us to be directly militarly involved. The objective of funding Ukraine is to make Putin's victory Pyrrhic. Yes, the reality is Russia will win in the since some part of Ukraine is going to Russia.

You have a valid point here, domino theory; If South Vietnam fell the communist would continue. They didn't. So why should we buy it now, again?

North Vietnam was little more than a client state of the Soviet Union and China. The North wanted their country unified, the Soviet's and China wanted to expand the communist footprint. The question is, did they ever have the capability or desire to go further?

Say yes and you could argue the war worked. Say no and you arrive where you are.

Russia v Ukraine is different in that Russia has both the capability and Putin has the desire to get the band back together. You need only take him at his word.

You can reject that, but are you really assessing the situation as it is, and at least acknowledging the consequences, or are you married to a model that doesn't quit line up and dogmatically telling me I am wrong?

Cambodia possibly could count as a fallen domino. Millions dead. To be honest, here 50 years later VietNam prefers us to the ChiComs. Putin’s telling the world what his future plans for the Baltics, etc. are. Ukrainians are dying for us.

It sounds like you are describing analysis paralysis, do nothing because we can't see from A-Z.

You play the hand your dealt in the game you are playing. Yes, actions beget reaction and change the variables. The thing is you can, through the lens of history and knowing your adversaries and allies, come to a reasonable conclusion of trajectory.

If Z is the conclusion of the war you have a finite number of options

1) Russia just goes home

2) Ukraine defeats Russia

3) Russia takes Ukraine entirely

4) Ukraine agrees to terms and gives up land

1 is not going to be

2 is not going to be

3 is the likely outcome if we do nothing, just as Germany winning was the likely outcome if we did nothing

4 is from what I understand the general consensus

Russia and China for that matter are not coequal adversarial trading partners, they want and actively seek the destruction of America.

While I can't see all the steps to Z I know for a fact that people who chase straights and flushes I will leave on busses.

Whacko-nutcase-crank MTG seems to have a thing for space lasers.

Well at least they're not "Jewish" space lasers...or are they???

Just asking questions!

Would be nice if the IDF invented a Wacko-nutcase laser but I am afraid it would overheat with all the work it would generate in the world today.
