Just a gripe about your on air comments today re: the NCAA transfer portal, and in particular the University of Alabama. Disclaimer: this subject is way down on the list of shit going on in this country. But you said that college football players get nothing in return for their participation as justification for the transfer portal. This is false. They are getting the opportunity for a college degree. Players get tuition and housing and more for being on the team. Tuition and associated costs can be worth several hundred thousands of dollars at UA. No student loans. Oh and I'm an Auburn fan so no Bama bias.

I have a question for those critics of Nikki Haley who "have privately warned Trump that, were he to make Haley first in line to the presidency, he’d effectively be setting himself up for an intra-party coup, as GOP senators would use any legal or political pretext to remove him from office and elevate the more old guard-aligned Haley."

Exactly which GOP senators would those be? The ones who voted not to impeach him? The ones fundraising off the "unfair" treatment that poor, innocent Trump is enduring? The ones who have elbowed each other out of the way while racing to the mic to endorse Trump? The ones calling for the other presidential candidates to get out of the race? The one who’s started a NeverNikki-dot-com effort?

The GOP is Trump's party now. He *is* the establishment. And countless power-hungry hypocrites in Congress and in the right-leaning media have thrown out any sense of ethics and thrown in with him. Disgusting.

"GOP senators would use any legal or political pretext to remove him from office and elevate the more old guard-aligned Haley." what a weird argument. if that were their plan then wouldn't that have happened in 2017? or 2021? the vitriol of the cult towards Haley is hard to understand. reminds me of Bernie bros attacking Hillary

Why won’t Kemp investigate DA Fani Willis

Expand full comment

Erick discussed this in his opening monologue yesterday. It’s because of Georgia law which stipulates the procedure for possibly removing a DA, and it doesn’t involve the governor. Instead, after local officials launch an investigation, it goes to an oversight committee.

Interesting to know Pakistan says a lot more than “don’t” when Iran hits them. They hit back.

Re: Uvalde..... How nice that it took the DOJ this long to officially claim what we've all known almost immediately after the shooting happened.

Otherwise, I'd like to point out that one guy at the mall in Greenwood, Indiana did in 15 seconds what 376 cops in Uvalde couldn’t do in 77 minutes.

You never have to apologize to me for discussing foreign and defense policy. I am 70% on these issues as a voter. The most haunting statement I know is the one paraphrased as “you might not be interested in war, but war is interested in you.”

My advise to anyone wanting to be Trunp's VP, call Mike Pence. At least you will know what you are geeting yourself into.

Exactly. You can be loyal Trump every step of the way, but heaven forbid you choose the Constitution over him.

Great point. The person would have to be someone more feared than Trump to stop the lawsuits, etc.

If 'Scary Poppins' and that Disinformation Bureau were still in existence, every White House press briefing would need to be blacked out.

Re NC turning blue: Why does Biden believe blacks still automatically vote Democrat? Is he mentally living in, say, 1995?

Probably because so many blacks still do automatically vote Democrat.

I am a huge Jamie Dimon fan. His interview was refreshing in the fact that it was honest, insightful, fact-based and respectful. That is what leadership should look like.

Is it normal for the perspective parties to pick the VP? I’m tired of the RNC running the show. They have done such great job in the past . They do not speak for me. I will never give my money to the party only to individuals. Still ticked off that the Ohio Republican Party endorsed Trump.

Tuesday following the Iowa caucus I called Elise Stefanik as Trump's VP pick. Yesterday, Daily Wire reported that as a possibility. Time will tell. I can't imagine who Trump could pick that would increase his favorability in my eyes.

The nominated Presidential candidate always picks the VP. Sometimes there’s pressure, like for FRD to replace the commie Wallace in 1944 Thank God.

Honest question, where is KJP getting the idea that the bill would have eliminated 2000 border patrol jobs? I don’t know but would like to know. Either that’s true or it isn’t.

FANTASTIC opening monologue Erick. Fantastic. Thank you for voicing things many of us have been thinking. I have zero time for the stolen election crowd and those who scream about politicians standing on principles yet have none themselves. To parrot you, either the Constitution and the Rule of Law matter or they don't.
