India and China continue to Pollute we have reducedpollution and been responsible. Philosophically liberals believe only government can do these things as they continue to prove they can"t. Like you say, a Free population will and has always stepped up but when I am forced to do something I was doing anyway I resent it, plain and simple. One thing Biden has done, He has in two weeks done what I could not do in 30 years. He has turned my daughter into a conservative. Thanks for that Joe.

I believe you are totally wrong about MTG. I still want to see the cage match between you two. Her views are much more pointed then yours Erick. They are rough like Trumps, but everyone can’t be a freaking lawyer. Lawyers like you got us where we are today. Ten different ways to interpret the law with never a common sense ruling. Example. An illegal immigrant is illegal yet lawyers seemed to have figured out away to keep someone here who shouldn’t be. If we had 400 MTG’s in Congress then common sense would rule and conspiracy theories would not be a thing b/c of common sense. Lawyers & Judges (who of course are lawyers) have played on words for so long it is a conspiracy to simply hide behind words that many common men and women can’t understand. Another example is “Penumbras” & Emanations. Who talks like this? The Supreme Court used these words to say abortion is fine. Now Erick you want to criticize MTG for what she says, but yet in a 7-2 ruling a bunch of complicit in the murdering of human life lawyers drummed up these words to say killing babies is a women’s right. Today we know that is a life with a heartbeat, with 10 fingers and, 10 toes. Their right to due process is being violated and you want to call for MTG to be redistricted or voted out ASAP. If she had an abortion the left would love her, but she is pro life and we need all of those in Congress that we can get. I remember you sided with a woman who traded stock after a congressional hearing about the coronavirus. Oh well a bipartisan investigation said nothing wrong. You can’t be that gullible can you?

Killing millions of jobs, increasing the price of insulin and other drugs, sending US troops across the Syrian border...with this type of Biden administration who needs enemies?

I understand your use of "media." It's an openly pejorative term specifically targeted at those outlets which were openly antagonistic against all things Trump ("Orange Man Bad!!) and yet have now fully swung around to just as ardently support Biden ("The Democrats Know the Way!!").

Nature abhors a vacuum. Christianity is hateful. The Judeo-Christian ethic is hated. Yet just as nature will not allow a vacuum, people must also have a religion. Me-ism is the new religion, regulated by My-ism which will always control Your-ism.

Why does every critique of the left have an obligatory dig at "the media"? Up to that point you made some great points. However, I get the Wall Street Journal delivered, my Cable company transmits Fox and OANN, and I subscribe to your blog. Isn't that "the media" too?

We can no more control "climate change" than we can control God. I just read the story of the Tower of Babel to make sure I am right, and I am. I propose we take MARTA all the way up GA 400 and 575 and make people ride it. Just have one lane for cars for leisure.

As for MTG, leave this woman alone, that's what elections are for. Bidey used to have on his banner that he promised to serve only one term and it was taken down just like BLM's real agenda was taken off the web when peeps started looking. Bidey will not make it 4 years, the Oracle says so. Relax. Let's place bets.

Well, it’s not like it’s a big surprise that Keystone got canceled or that oil leases on federal lands won’t be allowed. This is what the country wanted. Higher gas prices and electricity costs mostly affecting the poorest Americans. It’s always fun when people get what they want. Whether you believe in climate change or not, (I do, cause I see the weather changing all the time, hot, cold, rain, shine) China is increasing their emissions faster than we can cut ours. Funny how environmentalists never talk about that....

Once again you do not live in this district. I’ve lived here from 2007-2011 and 2016-present. I promise you that by lying to give moral cover to the citizenry of this district you are not helping. They are loving this.

If there is a reckoning for Democrats because of our support for climate change policies, then so be it. It's already too late to keep climate change from happening, but we have to seriously get started on mitigation.

That's one thing I like about the likelihood that Biden is a one-termer. Freed from the pressure of trying to get reelected, he can do that which must be done without regard to any political reckoning. In any event, I like our chances that the reality of climate change (as California goes up in flames each and every year) becomes increasingly apparent to enough people for that reckoning not to occur.

California burning. Dry air and kindling. Ripe for burning. Ever heard the song, “it never rains in Southern California?” Get rid of the kindling to start.

All we accomplish by destroying American energy is destruction of American energy. Effect on the climate will be precisely zero. It's nothing but a gesture - by morons

"keep climate change from happening" are you saying try to be more environmentally conscious [is so, just say this] or stop the climate from changing [which we have no control over]

My understanding is that while it is too late to stop global warming from happening, we can still slow it down. I believe the scientists because about 40 years ago, they said human activity was producing a hole in the ozone layer that protects the planet from harmful ultraviolet radiation. The world came together in something called the Montreal Protocol, under which our use of ozone-depleting chemicals was drastically reduced, and guess what? It worked.

Expand full comment

Ok, so it is global warming. Yes, reducing pollution makes complete sense. Little known fact, it isn't actually a hole in the ozone, but a thinner portion of that layer...and it continually changes and moves. I remember as a child, about 40 years ago, the talk of the sun exploding in 50 years...yep, that stuck with me.

Expand full comment

I'm not sure what you are trying to say, but my point is that the episode with the ozone layer gives ample reason to believe that scientists (a) are not lying to us, and (b) know what they are talking about.

Science, I agree.

Why do you and others only talk about the jobs lost from the cancelation of the Keystone Pipeline? I don’t read anywhere that the oil isn’t going to still go to the Gulf of Mexico, it’s just how it’s going to get there. So, there’ll be more trucking or rail jobs. Are we so sure that stopping construction of the Keystone is a net job loser?

Expand full comment

They are trucking and railing the oil now because the pipeline is not complete, so don't tell me the transportation jobs will increase.

Expand full comment

It’s not that they will increase, it’s that they won’t decrease. With the completion of the pipeline, they clearly decrease.

Expand full comment

I doubt that there will be offsetting jobs in trucking or rail because unlike with Keystone, the highways and railways have already been built. The question is whether there will be any net climate change benefit, given the increased use of fossil fuels in getting that Canadian oil to market via truck or rail. If not, the Republicans could have a point.

Expand full comment

I don’t know with specificity. But, I’m sure it’s a non-zero number. Someone has to drive those trucks (at least until they’re driverless). More cars on trains cause rail repair sooner. More truck use and more rail use lead to more tanker truck and more tanker car construction, at some point. My point isn’t that I’m sure that truck and rail employment is greater than pipeline construction employment. My point is that many commentators seem to assume there isn’t some offsetting. They seem to assume it’s all negative.

Expand full comment

And more polluting by the trucks.

Expand full comment

Very likely, though I don’t know the leakage comparison.

Expand full comment

A welded pipe doesn't move. Tanker trucks continually flex and leak. Plus, the truck emissions pollute.

The Democrats have two years to rig the elections to make this a one party country. You could run Jesus for Congress in two years and he would lose.

Expand full comment

If by rigging the election, you mean making sure that everyone can vote and have that vote counted, you are right about what Democrats mean to do. Although fraud in connection with mail-in ballots is a legitimate concern (no, this did not cause Trump to lose), they were necessary in light of the pandemic. I have no objection to those rules being tightened. However, what I am clearly hearing from conservatives in an expanding commitment to limiting ballot access by whatever means. If that be your intention, Jesus ain't on your side.

Expand full comment

I am talking about fraud. There were too many stories floating around about boxes of ballots showing up in areas where Biden was losing. Cruz and others wanted a bipartisan commission to investigate these claims. Now we have the making of a great conspiracy scenario.

A few years ago some black thugs were harassing white voters in Philadelphia at polling places. That is just as evil as white thugs harassing black voters in the south years ago.

The bipartisan theme should be that every legal voter can vote and the vote is counted.

Jesus is my teacher and he will be proud of my works and faith.
